A rare continuous 10-yard length of Brunschwig & Fils “Dent de Lion,” a wonderfully graphic mid-1970s botanical print featuring oversized dandelion forms scattered across a crisp white ground.

Designed by C.E. Tausch for Brunschwig & Fils, the pattern has the wit and scale that made the house’s textiles so distinctive: botanical, but not precious; decorative, but still remarkably modern nearly fifty years later.

The name itself comes from the French dent-de-lion, or “tooth of the lion,” an old reference to the sharply toothed leaves of the dandelion plant. It is the origin of the English word “dandelion,” and an especially fitting name for a pattern built around one of the most familiar wild plants in the landscape.

What makes this piece especially desirable is the uninterrupted yardage. Ten continuous yards gives a designer enough fabric to do something substantial with it. Vintage decorator fabrics are often found only in remnants or short cuts, making a full continuous length increasingly difficult to source.

The fabric retains a bright white background with strong, clear printing and presents beautifully.
